Ready to go far into the future? And we mean really far! Upcoming Prime Video series, The Peripheral, takes place in 2032, and then jumps ahead all the way to the year 2099. Are you sci-fi fans ready? You might be wondering how much time you’ll need to set aside to tune in to the new show. Well, we’ve got the answer for you below!

The new series stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Flynne Fisher, Jack Reynor as Burton Fisher, and Gary Carr as Wilf Netherton. Eli Goree, Louis Herthum, JJ Feild, T’Nia Miller, among other actors also make up the cast. The drama is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by author William Gibson.

How many episodes are in The Peripheral on Prime Video?

There are a total of eight episodes of The Peripheral. Though the series is not a binge-watch. You’ll have to wait for one new episode each week. The show premieres Friday, Oct. 21 with the first episode. Going forward, one new installment will be released weekly until the finale, which is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 9 on Prime Video.

The production is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2032 where siblings Flynne and Burton Fisher live with their very ill mother. To make some extra cast to help with the medical bills, the two play simulations (Sims).

When Burton has a chance to beta test a new Sim, Flynne takes on the task instead, taking her to a future London in 2099. As it turns out, this world is actually real. And when Flynne breaks into a corporation to steal a valuable secret, she realizes what she thought was all just a simulation is actually reality. And this puts her, Burton, and his former military unit all at risk as they’ve now become targets.

The Peripheral premieres Friday, Oct. 21 on Prime Video.
