3 CW shows that definitely won’t be back in 2023

2. Charmed

CW shows are no strangers to delivering big cliffhangers and Charmed definitely swung for the fences in its season 4 finale.

In the closing moments of the season, Mel, Maggie and Kaela entered a mysterious door that appeared after they prevented (another) magical apocalypse. Upon entering the door, the trio was transported into Halliwell Manor from the original series before the door slammed shut behind them.

The moment seems to hint that the show was about to explore a connection to the original series, but sadly we’ll never get to see that approach come to fruition.

Charmed was among the many CW shows canceled in 2022 during The CW’s biggest cancellation wave in the network’s history. As a result, the series will not be coming back next year and there are no plans for the show to continue via another platform meaning we’ve seen the last of Charmed for the foreseeable future.

Given how big of a swing the writers took with the season 4 finale, it’s a shame that we’ll never get to see how the series would have explored the connection to the original series. It’s just as equally disappointing to think of what cameos the show could have possibly pulled off by bringing stars from the original series back in some manner.
