At age 17, Kandi Burruss and her group Xscape released their debut album Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha which landed Burruss and her groupmates their first two Top 10 hits!  “Just Kickin’ It” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on Sept. 18, 1993, and would peak at the No. 2 spot just a few weeks later on Oct. 23, 1993 — the track would spend 21 weeks total on the chart.

The group would get their second Top 10 hit the following year when “Understanding” peaked at No. 8 in January 1994. Xscape went on to release two additional albums which brought them four additional Top 10 hits before parting ways in 1998.

During the filming of season 4, Tucker, a line producer on the show at the time, decided to approach Burruss during the show’s annual trip which took place in Africa that year.

According to Tucker, he decided to approach Burruss one day while filming and the pair hit it off spending hours talking. It wasn’t long after that the pair became official, a move that led Tucker to step away from his role as a producer on the show.

Tucker and Burress wed in 2014 and have four children: Riley Burruss (who Kandi had during a previous relationship with Russell Spencer), Kaela Tucker, Ace Tucker, and Blaze Tucker.
