CBS had reruns and FOX had Game 3 of the World Series. How did the other shows fare in the live TV ratings on Tuesday, Nov. 1?

We skipped over Monday’s live TV ratings. With so many networks opting for reruns and specials due to Halloween, it didn’t make sense to look at the ratings. We are back with Tuesday’s ratings, though.

Only ABC, NBC, and The CW had new episodes of their shows. We don’t look at the unscripted ratings as they fall under a different category, and it’s not always about the live ratings for them to be renewed. It’s all about scripted.

Going into this, we’d learned that The Winchesters and Walker Independence wouldn’t get backorders. That’s not surprising considering the changes at The CW. It doesn’t mean the shows are in danger of not being renewed, though. Let’s take a look at how the shows fared with the World Series happening over on FOX (which one the night in the live TV ratings, by the way).

The Winchesters up, The Rookie: Feds down in the live TV ratings

The Winchesters performed well in the first timeslot of the night. At least, in The CW’s standards, it did. It was up 11% in the demo and up 8.5% in the audience compared to the previous week. This is one of the top shows on the network, and usually, that would mean a backorder and renewal. However, Nexstar is changing everything about the network, and we’re not too sure just yet.

In the second hour of the night, it was all about La Brea and Professionals. The NBC sophomore series was down 14% in the demo and just short of a percent in the audience. This isn’t looking great, especially when a rerun of FBI: International performed just as well in the demo and better in the audience.

Meanwhile, Professionals was up 100% in the demo and 21% in the audience. It’s not up to The CW to renew this, as it’s a Canadian acquisition. The show’s fate is still open.

In the final hour, it was all about New Amsterdam and The Rookie: Feds. We don’t usually look at New Amsterdam as it’s the final season. It’s also the lowest-rated NBC series right now, so it’s worth looking at it this week to compare with ABC’s The Rookie: Feds.

The Rookie: Feds was down 16% in the demo and almost 4% in the audience. Both of these numbers are below New Amsterdam. Usually, we would be worried, but we know ABC has ordered a full season of The Rookie spin-off. It looks like delayed ratings are helping it. Again, though, the rerun of FBI: Most Wanted performed better than the two reruns. It’s clear why CBS renewed all three FBI shows for two seasons earlier this year.
