Scottish writer and comedian Billy Connolly has been a favorite to many for years and years. The 79-year-old celeb got his first big break in the 1970s, starting off as a musician and then transitioning into a comic. His first solo album, Billy Connolly Live!, was released in 1972. He’s since scooped up big movie roles and comedy gigs, and even had a documentary made about him called Billy Connolly: It’s Been a Pleasure which was released in 2020.

Connolly has retired from comedy as he continues to battle with Parkinson’s disease, something he’s been very open about in the past. Considering he’s not in the spotlight as much anymore, fans were absolutely delighted to see him spending time at a pub in Loch Lomond, chowing down on some delicious mince and tatties.

As reported by Glasglow Live, the funnyman was spotted at The Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha, sporting a grey long-sleeved shirt, necklace, and his hair back like he’s known to usually wear it. This marked a special trip back home, as Connolly usually lives in Florida.

The official Facebook page for The Oak Tree Inn shared sweet photos of Connolly stopping by, which you can see below. They noted that their mince and tatties are no longer on the menu, so it looks like the comedian got extra special treatment when visiting home!

As expected, the Facebook post above garnered quite the buzz with a lot of engagement in likes and comments. Fans were so excited to see Connolly back in Scotland and couldn’t help but leave their positive messages. “No way! I was there Thursday. Love Billy Conolly x,” one local commented, while another said, “Aww Billy – it’s good to see you in Scotland x,” and a third wrote, “Brilliant to see him out and about.”

Connolly was all smiles while eating his mince and tatties and fans love to see it.
