Teen Mom fans are concerned and torn after Leah Messer chugs wine on TikTok

What Teen Mom star Leah Messer saw as an innocent TikTok video poking fun at herself, fans saw a person potentially crying for help.

According to The Sun, fans’ concern stems from Christina Le-Carter’s (Messer’s friend) viral TikTok. Carter requested her friends send in their reactions if they were to accidentally see her and her partner being intimate. Most friends reacted by stepping backward awkwardly or hilarious grabbing a bag of popcorn. However, Messer’s reaction was a tad different from the rest, as she grabbed a large bottle of wine and pretended to chug alcohol.

Needless to say, Messer’s fans understand her humor, especially since the reality TV star is perfectly fine with going above and beyond for a joke. But keeping in mind that the star has had issues with addiction in the past, some are worried that the joke may have gone too far.

Why fans are concerned about Leah Messer’s recent behavior

From the times she nearly lost consciousness on camera to her previous admissions into rehab for help, Leah Messer has been candid about her struggles with addiction to prescription drugs on her Teen Mom journey and her life outside the MTV reality show. She even made it a point to write her memoir, Hope, Grace & Faith, to raise awareness about the horrors that come with drug addiction and how she overcame it all.

When asked by US Weekly about which moment of her life was most difficult to retell in her memoir, Messer expressed:

"“I think writing about the addiction and being suicidal and the abortion was the hardest parts to write about. The mistakes that I’ve made in my past, sharing that with the world, I had a lot of fears that came up. But it ended being so therapeutic for me.”"

While fans understand that Messer is now well enough to drink casually, they also fear she may be backsliding, especially now that she and her fiancé, Jaylan Mobley, have officially called it quits after dating for a little over a year. Pair that with the fact that she is a single mother of three daughters, one of whom has Muscular Dystrophy, it’s becoming increasingly apparent to fans that she may not be doing as fine as they thought.

“Not that we see every hour of her life but it seems like most of what she posts or is tagged in involves some type of alcohol,” one fan expressed. “She has an addictive personality so this makes sense,” another added.

Yet, most fans didn’t truly see a problem since it was a joke.

“Leah had the most appropriate response,” one fan stated.

Regardless of how anyone feels, all that matters is Leah Messer’s truth, and the truth is, she’s living her best life, surrounded by her loved ones and ready for the holidays.
