As the year comes to a close, TV lovers have to contend with their favorite shows going on winter break. Once the holidays roll in, networks switch to more festive programming, put in place their rerun schedule, and pivot to a line-up that recognizes most people will be out shopping, merrymaking, and spending time with their families as we bid farewell to 2022.

However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t anticipate what’s to come once 2023 comes knocking. The FOX midseason schedule has not only returning programming like the fourth season of 9-1-1: Lone Star but also new crime dramas for viewers to sink their teeth into.

First up is Alert, a series that centers on the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit. Each case follows police officers Jason Grant and Nikki Batista as they search for someone whose life hangs in the balance. The formerly married duo are also looking into the disappearance of their son. The series premieres Sunday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. ET before moving to its regular time on Monday, Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. ET.

Toward the end of the month on Sunday, Jan. 22, Accused, the anthology crime thriller series will premiere at 9 p.m. ET before sliding into its regular time slot on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the same time. The show, which presents 15 different cases, told in different cities, and featuring entirely different casts, follows the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks as their story unfolds.

Intense and topical, Accused takes a look at ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances that stemmed from their own impulsive decisions that changed their life, and the lives of those affected, forever.

You’ll find the full list of shows set to premiere and return on FOX at the top of the year below.
