How many dogs are competing in the 2022 National Dog Show?

It’s officially Thanksgiving, meaning it’s time to get together with your loved ones to enjoy some warm food and fun conversations! Not to mention, many might be breaking out the Christmas movies during their time off in preparation for the next big holiday. Today, families and friends all over America will no doubt be tuning in for the biggest televised events of the month, including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the NFL football games, and the National Dog Show.

This year’s National Dog Show takes place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania again and features some of the best and most beautiful dogs from all over. Whether you’re tuning in for the Toy Group or the hounds, there’s truly a breed for everyone at the special event.

2022 National Dog Show dogs

Approximately 2,000 dogs are competing this year at the National Dog Show! Included in the list are popular breeds such as the German Shepherd Dog, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, the Dachshund, and more. Less-familiar breeds will also be at the show, for example the Xoloitzcuintli, the Spinone Italiano, the Dogue de Bordeaux, and others.

In 2020 and 2021, a Scottish Deerhound named Claire won the dog show. We can’t wait to see which dog takes home the big prize later this afternoon.
