A new teacher has entered the scene on Gossip Girl (2021) for season 2. Mike Shubin, the Russian literature instructor at Constance St. Jude’s, had been out on sabbatical, but he’s back and taking over Kate Keller’s classroom. Or rather he’s taking back his classroom.

Apparently, she’d only been assigned the room because he was out but now that he’s back, she’s got to vacate the premises. Her job’s not on the line, but she will have to do it in a less than satisfactory environment moving forward.

Though, initially, the two teachers don’t exactly get along, Mike and Kate develop an oddball dynamic. They both want to take down the system of corruption that plagues their school, but they have different ideas on how to do that. Also, Mike’s out of the loop on Kate’s secret identity as Gossip Girl, so all this digging they’re doing may be for a worthy cause, but she’s not wielding it in a fair capacity.

Who plays Mike Shubin on Gossip Girl (2021)?

Mike Shubin is played by Pico Alexander. The actor is primarily known for his film roles including his turn as Harry in the Reese Witherspoon-led romantic dramedy, Home Again. As for TV, Alexander played Clevinger in the miniseries Catch-22 and Henry ‘Ship’ Shipley in Dickinson.

Alexander can next be seen in The Honeymoon, a comedy where he’ll be playing Adam, a recently married man whose honeymoon is sabotaged by his best friend. Adam and his wife, Sarah, envisioned a romantic trip celebrating their new status as newlyweds. Instead they’ll be getting a disaster and a third wheel.
