The Bold and the Beautiful recap (Dec. 12): Deacon panics
By Sabrina Reed
The hunt is on! After Steffy literally bumped into Sheila outside of Il Giardino’s bathrooms, it didn’t take long for the Co-CEO to put two-and-two together. Or should I say toe-and-no toe? Anyway, bad puns aside, Sheila got away but she can’t possibly stay ahead of the authorities for too much longer…can she?
The lack of knowing has sent Deacon climbing up a wall. He’d playing double duty by trying to keep Steffy and Finn (Sinn) from realizing he’s known all along that Sheila’s alive whilst also shielding her from being found out. But he entered panic mode on today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful after Steffy told him she encountered the fugitive.
Throwing the two off Sheila’s trail wasn’t working, so Deacon went to go call his friend under the guise of checking on security footage. She assured him that no one was going to catch her but how can she be so sure? I have a theory, and if the soap does go in the direction I think it is, there could be a “new” Sheila in town.
Here’s the full recap of events.
What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?
The episode opened with a bang. Sure, Sheila got away because Steffy had been inundated with flashbacks of their confrontation in the restaurant’s back alley but Jacqueline MacInnes Wood was acting. The terror she exuded as the memories flooded her, and reality sunk in that Sheila is actually alive, was perfection. Steffy was rocked so hard by the truth it gave her a migraine.
Of course, once she was able to compose herself, she immediately went to fill Finn and Deacon in on what she saw. Steffy recounted the interaction for the two men, going over every detail and asking if she’s correct about which toe Sheila’s missing. Once Finn confirmed which foot is lacking a toe and which toe that is, Sinn didn’t need any more evidence. They alerted the authorities.
Deacon tried to poke minor holes into the story by being surprised that Sheila would be foolish enough to come to a restaurant she’d once worked at but Steffy was adamant it was her. Seeing no other way to play things, Deacon went along with Sinn’s idea to look at the security footage. He said he’d view the tape himself and requested the couple wait at the bar for him to return just in case Baker comes looking for them.
The soap ended without Deacon saying anything more about the footage, but we did get one more scene with him as he called Sheila in a panic. She’s holed up somewhere non-descript and had been berating herself for wearing sandals before Deacon’s call. At first, she wondered whether or not her friend had given her number out to anyone, but he hadn’t.
When Sheila picked up, she was treated to Deacon’s clear worry. She did her best to soothe him, repeating her statement that no one was going to catch her. He, however, wasn’t assured. Interestingly, Sheila didn’t answer Deacon when he asked her if she’d keep quiet about his involvement in aiding her. But, she did tell him that she’s off to do something. She didn’t say what and instead hung up on him, which means we have to wait to find out as well.
My theory is that Sheila could be in for a face change. If that happens we’d be getting a “new” Sheila, at least for a little while, as she tries to stay out of custody. This doesn’t necessarily mean a new actress will be cast in the role, but there may be a permanence to the next disguise Kimberlin Brown wears on The Bold and the Beautiful. After all, they did have Sheila admiring her face an awful lot today and she’d been leaving the apartment without telling Deacon for awhile. Perhaps the infamous woman was making plans for her next daring attempt at keeping her freedom.
Elsewhere, at Forrester Creations, Liam and Hope had a conversation about Sheila that felt like it was filling time. It boiled down to Hope being concerned about Sinn’s theory about the fugitive being alive. Liam did his best to assure her, he even threw in a massage and a hug, but his wife couldn’t help but hope that the couple are wrong.
Sinn’s own worries were far more compelling as there are real stakes for them in this storyline. Sheila nearly killed them both. She held Finn hostage and has been a threatening thorn in their side since she surprised them at their wedding. Finn carries immense guilty for giving her a chance and, though Steffy doesn’t hold that against him, it’s obvious he won’t be settled until he rectifies his mistake by ensuring his birth mom goes to prison.
We’ll see if that actually happens. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
