There’s so many great holiday films to get through during the festive season.1988 film Scrooged is definitely one you need to have on your list if you don’t already!

The fantasy comedy is a modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ famous novella, A Christmas Carol. The movie stars Bill Murray as Frank Cross, aka the Scrooge, Karen Allen as Claire Phillips, John Forsythe as Lew Hayward, Bobcat Goldthwait as Eliot Loudermilk, David Johansen as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Carol Kane as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Robert Mitchum as Preston Rhinelander, Michael J. Pollard as Herman, and Alfre Woodard as Grace Cooley.

The film follows Frank Cross (Murray), who is a very successful television executive. But his personality isn’t the same as he’s cold and selfish, which led to losing the love of his life Claire Phillips (Allen). After he fires staff member Eliot Loudermilk (Goldthwait) on Christmas Eve, a number of ghosts pay him a visit so he has the chance to right the wrongs of his past, per the synopsis.
