The highly-anticipated and visually spectacular film is taking audiences back to Pandora for the first time since 2009. We have returning favorites Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, CCH Pounder as Mo’at, Joel David Moore as Dr. Norm Spellman, and Dileep Rao as Dr. Max Patel. Not so fan-favorites Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch and Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge will also reprise their roles alongside a bunch of new cast members.

The James Cameron masterpiece is pleasing to the eye, which can be appreciated more in cinemas. But, you may also want the option of viewing the production at home. Where can you watch the film after its theatrical release? We’ve got the answer for you below!

** UPDATE 3/7/23 – As of March 2023, the second Avatar film is not streaming on Prime Video. However, there is some good news when it comes to purchasing it online! 20th Century Studios announced the film is finally going to be available to buy on-demand starting Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Included with the purchase is over three hours of never-before-seen extras. The production can be added to your movie collection through major digital retailers like Prime Video, Apple TV, and Vudu, Deadline reports. **

Right now we don’t know when exactly Avatar 2 will come to streaming. It’s expected that the movie will do very well and be a success like its predecessor, so it may be running in theaters for a while. It’s also not 100% confirmed that it will even come to streaming. Though it’s very likely it will.

Eventually, the movie should start streaming on Disney+! Avatar is currently in the streamer’s catalog. Both the first movie and its sequel were produced by 20th Century Studios, which is a part of Walt Disney Studios. That’s why you’ll be able to find the productions on Disney+. It’s also possible the film will be available to rent or buy through another company online. We’ll have to wait and see!

Avatar 2 takes place 10 years after the events of the inaugural film. It sees Jake and Neytiri having to fight a familiar enemy, but this time they have their three children to worry about too. The couple will need to work with the army of the Na’vi to protect their planet of Pandora.

Avatar: The Way of Water is now playing in theaters. Stay tuned for news on when the film comes to streaming!
