5 new Netflix movies and shows to watch this week (December 19)

I want to say a special Merry Christmas to everyone who reads this article every week. I appreciate you checking out throughout the year and hope the holidays are good for you. Like we do each and every week, we’re sharing all the new Netflix movies and shows debuting beginning the week of Dec. 19, 2022.

What a fantastic year it has been for Netflix with the vast number of movies and shows we could enjoy. Of course, there has been something we haven’t enjoyed, but you know you take the good and the bad, and you run with it. While the week might be light in quantity, the quality is for sure here.

New Netflix movies and shows to watch this week

• Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Dec. 23
• Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Dec. 25

We have TWO massive releases this week, and we’ll start with the return of one of my favorite shows, Emily in Paris. The season has a few questions that we need to answer. Nothing is off the table, from her job to her love life with the show’s drama. More importantly, what kind of fashion does the show have in store for us? All I know is that I am excited to watch the series and Lily Collins in the role of Emily.

If you were unable to catch Glass Onion: A Knives Out in theaters during its short week run, don’t worry, the film is dropping just in time to watch during the Christmas holiday. Rian Johnson brings back Benoit Blanc with another mystery for us to solve. While I was skeptical that Johnson would be able to get the magic the first one did, not only did he, I believe Glass Onion might be as good or better than the original.
