Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer trailer, release date, cast, and more

We haven’t seen a film from Christopher Nolan since 2020’s Tenet, but now the infamous director will be back with a new one in the summer of 2023! Get ready for epic thriller, Oppenheimer.

The Universal Pictures biographical movie was produced by Nolan, as well as Emma Thomas and Charles Roven. The man behind the cameras also penned the script.

Here’s all we know about the upcoming production!

Oppenheimer release date

The film is set to release in theaters only Friday, July 21, 2023. It’s not known yet whether the movie will come to streaming at a later date. Though it most likely will on Peacock.

Oppenheimer synopsis

The production company hasn’t released an official synopsis yet. Though we do have an idea of what the story is about. The film is based on the biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

The scientist is a familiar figure to most Americans. He is the theoretical physicist known as the “father of the atomic bomb” as he was the project head and coordinator of the Manhattan Project which developed the first nuclear weapons in World War II. These weapons were later used in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The trailer gives us a look at actor Cillian Murphy in the titular role, the building of the weapon, and the actor’s voiceover describing how he feels as he’s working on this project. Check out the video below:
