Christmas has come to The Bold and the Beautiful! We’re still waiting for the festivities to begin but, we did see decorations up at both Steffy’s home and Eric’s today. The trees were beautiful and the houses were being readied to welcome in the holiday spirit.

This episode was rather mellow compared to what we’ve gotten over the past few days, but we can take it as a nice breather before the Christmas celebrations get underway. Eric checked-in with Ridge, extending an invitation to his son to come to the family gathering. Steffy and Finn put their worries about Sheila aside to focus on their kids. And, Katie got much needed good news about her heart.

Here’s the full recap of events.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

The writers tried to keep us on the edge of our seats concerning Katie’s heart health, but we’re a day out from the Christmas episode. There’s just no way she was going to get bad news. Dr. Buckingham assured Katie that she’s doing well and there’s nothing to worry about like we all expected.

Relieved, Katie and Carter went back to Forrester Creations. While there, Carter calmed Katie down. She’d been ramped up prior to her doctor’s appointment and still hadn’t settled out. Once she could focus on the happiness filling her, Katie laid out her plans to Carter. She wants to live life to the fullest. That includes loving with all she has in her.

Carter has been supportive of Katie, and she thanked him for coming to the hospital so she wouldn’t be alone. She had told Brooke not to come, but some of her burden was lifted when she saw him walk through the door. It looks like these two could be going into the new year with their romance.

In another plot, the soap focused on a settled love. Finn and Steffy embraced the holidays, taking in the beauty of their decorated home. While they did discuss Sheila, they quickly moved on. They have far too much to be thankful for to be giving her any attention. Kelly confirmed this when she told them both that she’s already gotten everything she wanted for Christmas. She wanted her family together and she has that.

She did, however, help her brother, Hayes, with his letter to Santa. Steffy assured her there would be something extra special from Santa for her, too, for being the best big sister. Her scenes with her parents were incredibly sweet and, at points, funny. Kelly had some interesting questions about Rudolph.

Her cousin Douglas told her the reindeer’s nose is so red because it’s cold at the North Pole. Steffy agreed, but then Kelly asked why the other reindeer don’t have noses so red when they live there, too. Unable to answer, Steffy passed the question to Finn who then told Kelly to ask her dad when she sees him at Eric’s Christmas celebration. Way to pass the buck, Finn!

With all that Steffy and Finn went through, it’s nice seeing them spend time together with their family to enjoy the holidays even with Sheila still at large.

At Eric’s, Ridge arrived after his father asked him to stop by. Eric was going through the Christmas tree ornaments his children and grandchildren have made over the years. He called his son because he’s worried about him after being dumped by Brooke and Taylor. While it was played with slight amusement, his concern was clear.

Ridge reassured him that he’s fine and that he’s proud of them. No, he didn’t let slip who he’d chosen in the end. I don’t think that’s ever going to get answered. Ridge did admit that he still loves both of his exes, but that he’s got to figure out what’s next for him now that they’ve decided to call it quits.

For the time being, going off of Pam and Charlie’s light ribbing, it looks like the family is getting a bit of a kick out of Ridge getting dropped. It’s all with love though. Pam wanted to make sure Ridge knows his family is here for him. Eric had the same sentiment and asked his son to come to his Christmas party.

They addressed the Brooke of it all. Yes, she’ll be at the party, but the two will be able to co-exist. Eric also said Brooke would like to see Ridge. Interestingly, Taylor wasn’t mentioned so I guess she didn’t get an invite. Hopefully, she’s part of some of the festivities during the holiday episode whether that’s at Eric’s or Steffy’s.

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
