First up is back-to-back thrillers on New Year’s Day with Catfish Killer and Engaged to be Murdered. Lifetime viewers can expect a two night event for the docuseries Surviving R. Kelly: The Final Chapter starting Jan. 2. And reality TV fans watching Married at First Sight‘s premiere on Jan. 4 should stay tuned for the new series, Married at First Sight: Afterparty.
Aside from the Ripped from the Headlines slate, the biggest movie release on Lifetime in January is Reba McEntire’s The Hammer, a movie inspired by real life traveling circuit judge, Kim Wanker. McEntire plays Kim Wheeler, the newly appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada, a no-nonsense, outspoken firebrand who gets caught up in case involving her sister, Kris, and the recently passed judge who once held Kim’s position.
