Ready to ring in the New Year? 2023 is fast approaching and the funnest way to always celebrate the arrival of another year is the official ball drop in Times Square!

The New York City event is a highlight for many, whether it’s for those who go in person or are watching at home. The New Year’s Eve ball drop has been a tradition since 1907, and the event sees millions of people tuning in annually.

There’s lots of lucky ones who are able to see it in person. But for the many of us at home, we can still enjoy the show on our screens. Where will you be able to do so this year? Here’s all that’s happening on the night of Dec. 31!

Where can I watch the 2023 ball drop?

Cable Options

  • ABCDick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023 at 8 p.m. ET
    • Ryan Seacrest will host the show for the 18th year live with co-hosts Liza Koshy and Jessie James Decker joining him onstage in Times Square. Performers include Duran Duran, New Edition, j-hope, and Jax.
    • Ciara will host the pre-taped event at the Disneyland Resort that is part of the Rockin’ Eve program. Performers include  Ciara, Fitz & The Tantrums, Maddie & Tae, Shaggy, Ben Platt, Aly & AJ, Halle Bailey, Tomorrow x Together, Bailey Zimmerman, and Lauren Spencer Smith.
    • D-Nice hosts at the L.A. party with performances by Wiz Khalifa, Finneas, Armani White, Betty Who, Dove Cameron, and Nicky Youre.
    • Billy Porter takes on MC duties in New Orleans for those counting down in the Central time zone. He will also be performing during the event.
  • CNN, New Year’s Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen at 8 p.m. ET
    • Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen take the lead as hosts for the sixth year in Times Square.
    • At 12:30 a.m. ET, Don Lemon will take over to provide a live countdown for those in the Central time zone in New Orleans.
    • Guests and performances in Times Square include Jean Smart, Cheri Oteri, and Ava Max.
    • Guests and performances outside of Times Square include Usher, Kevin Hart, Ellie Goulding, Patti LaBelle, REO Speedwagon, Nick Cannon, Jenifer Lewis, John Stamos, Tenacious D’s Jack, Black, and Kyle Gass.
    • Can also be streamed live the CNN app or CNNgo.
