Black Panther 2–full title Black Panther: Wakanda Forever–hit theaters on Friday, Nov. 11. The movie, which paid tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman and his iconic role as King T’Challa, was the thrill ride audiences have come to expect from Marvel movies and an emotional journey about grief, destruction, and legacy.

While countless viewers have turned out to see the film in theaters, some more than once, there’s still the question of when Black Panther 2 will make its way to streaming. During the pandemic, day-and-date releases in theaters and on streaming were common. Disney would release their films as usual but also made them available, for a fee, to watch on their streaming arm, Disney+.

However, day-and-date premieres have slowed down. In fact, Disney+ got rid of the model all together. While audiences could once watch their highly anticipated Marvel movie in the peace of their home when it was released in theaters, that’s no longer the case. So, when will the Black Panther sequel make its way to streaming? Here’s what we know!

When does Black Panther 2 start streaming on Disney+?

Update – Jan. 4, 2023: The Black Panther sequel’s streaming release date is Wednesday, Feb. 1.

A streaming release date has yet to be announced for the film. Deadline reports that viewers should anticipate a 2023 Disney+ premiere. Based on the success of Black Panther 2, the movie will have more than a 45 day theatrical window which will carry it through the end of the year.

At the earliest, the sequel could make its way to Disney+ in either January or February. We’ll keep you posted on its release date.
