Perhaps the one-two punch of Steffy and Katie’s visits got Bill to question what he’s doing with Sheila on The Bold and the Beautiful. Not to take  anything from his sons, Liam and Wyatt, but this storyline has consistently prioritized the importance of the three women in his life and lack of a love to come home to.

He’s lonely and wants to believe that Sheila’s the one woman who won’t ever leave him. However, as Steffy kept pointing out yesterday, she could be using him. Then Katie came to see Bill, eyes glowing with happiness, as she called him a hero and expressed her gratitude that Sheila didn’t harm him. Her display of emotion was full of warmth and care, which caught him off guard because he’d assumed she didn’t worry after his well-being anymore.

Cue Bill paying his own visit to Sheila to inquire about her true intentions. Here’s the full recap of events that played out on our soap.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Steffy and Finn continued to fret over the predicament that they’ve been placed in. After an anxious Finn ushered Steffy into the house, she launched into her lack of progress with Bill. She truly thinks he’s lost his mind, that’s the only explanation that makes sense to her because Bill isn’t acting like the man she knew (and once loved).

Finn gave his two cents about his initial impression being that the CEO was full of himself, which only relented after Bill helped save him and flew him to Monaco to reunite with Steffy. Now, however, his opinion has taken a nose dive, and it’s not likely to recover considering this is his family that’s being blackmailed.

While Steffy is far more use to this kind of treachery, it is blindsiding her that Bill would go against his word and threaten her mother with jail time for Sheila of all people. It’s not that she wants Bill to be dealing with being blackmailed himself, but it’d be far easier to find a way out of this mess if Sheila was holding something over him. As it stands now, his empty heart and blooming feelings for her are impeding any possibility of getting through to him.

At least, that’s what Steffy thinks. I believe he did hear her when she kept telling him that Sheila isn’t someone who can be trusted and that she’s done too much harm to be free. Katie framing him as a hero also seems to have helped in some fashion.

Bill stood there shamefaced when she breezed through his front door to shower him in praise and wanting to know why Sheila had come to him in the first place. He could barely look at her as he spun her the same tale that he’s been spinning. Katie didn’t dig into the story, she accepted once her questions were answered and moved on to talk about being thankful he wasn’t harmed.

She recognized that what he did was brave and even asked after his well-being since he seemed off. She thought maybe he was still shaken over Sheila breaking into his home. If she knew why he seemed downcast, Katie would be shocked. He’s lying to everyone he loves for the hope that Sheila is being truthful.

Interestingly, Bill couldn’t reconcile that Katie still cares about him. It clashed with his belief that she’d written him off. She was taken aback by his belief that she wouldn’t be concerned for him. What’s been clear for years on this soap is that Katie will always care for Bill. She can’t help it. There’s not a world where she’d want to see him harmed no matter what’s transpired between them.

I think Katie’s emotional response to the thought of Bill being hurt prompted him to go see Sheila. The infamous woman had just finished going toe-to-toe with a smugly gleeful Li over her imprisonment and thought she was finally going to be able to leave the room but then another officer arrived.

He’s in Bill’s pocket and we got a good look at his name, Woods, so this may not be the last we see of him. Anyway, Woods let Bill into the room and sent another officer out of it so he and Sheila could have a moment alone.

After assuring Sheila that Sinn know what needs to happen in order to keep Taylor out of jail, he asked her point blank if she’s going to get free and be with him like she’d just claimed seconds prior. Bill is going out on a limb for Sheila and he wants to make sure he’s not being played.

Earlier in the episode Li asked Sheila if she thinks this is a game, and Sheila’s response was that she didn’t but if it is one, she’s going to win it. So it’s possible that she is serious about Bill even if he is a means to an end. Both things can be true at once after all and the weeks that they’ve been spending together could have gotten to her, too.

Will this undeniable attraction Bill wants to believe they both feel work out for him? I’m not sure. Our soap is holding all of the cards and showing none of them at this point. It’s left me wanting more of this intriguing plot. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
