The first horror film of 2023 was anticipated to be a hit, and with over a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, MEGAN–stylized M3GAN–is sure to be a campy cult classic. The American science fiction horror movie follows the story of a roboticist who develops a life-like doll with artificial intelligence to be a best friend for her niece.

As you can imagine, things do not go to plan with the doll’s programming, and she redefines for herself what it means to take care of the little girl to whom she’s been “assigned”. Something that is supposed to be a friend and protector quickly turns violent, and as the official synopsis teases, there are “unimaginable consequences” for using this artificial intelligence.

The cast includes Allison Williams as robotics expert Gemma, Violet McGraw as her niece Cady, Amie Donald as the M3GAN, and Jenna Davis as the voice of the doll. The movie was written by Akela Cooper with the story by Cooper and James Wan, and it was directed by Gerard Johnstone.

Can you watch M3GAN on Peacock?

Update: Feb. 17, 2023 – The film will be available to stream on Peacock starting Friday, Feb. 24. According to TVLine, the streaming release for MEGAN includes a unrated version of the film.

Because MEGAN was produced by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, once the film is available for streaming, we do believe it will be available on Peacock, Universal’s streaming platform. However, this horror movie will be released only in theaters first.

You should expect to hear about MEGAN’s streaming release date in the coming weeks. Previous Universal Pictures films have come to Peacock in about 8 weeks after first hitting theaters, which puts the movie’s release around the first week in March 2023.

How can you stream M3GAN online?

Thought it’s possible that MEGAN could come to multiple streaming platforms over time, you will likely need a Peacock subscription in order to watch this film in 2023. You’ll be able to stream the movie with their Premium membership at $4.99 per month, but if you want to watch without ads, you’ll need their Plus subscription at $9.99 per month.
