Today on The Bold and the Beautiful, Sheila went before a judge. But don’t get too excited, only the hearing has gotten underway. She’s not actually standing trial yet and may never do so if Steffy and Finn give into Bill’s blackmail.

When Deacon paid Sheila a visit, it was obvious he had no idea what his friend has up her sleeve and she didn’t disclose just how she plans on pulling a Houdini and getting out of her predicament. Their bond, however, is stronger than ever. The soap may have been saying goodbye to their wonderfully weird and delightful dynamic to make room for Sheila and Bill’s relationship, but I’m hoping this isn’t the end of the misfit duo’s scenes.

One friendship that’s got viewers divided is the budding connection between Brooke and Taylor. The two discussed Sheila’s hearing and Katie’s visit with Bill when they met up in the main office at Forrester Creations. While I’ll admit it’s nice seeing friendship between two women on this soap who aren’t related to one another, I’m still not a fan of how this came to be.

Taylor’s out here playfully asking Brooke if she missed her like her son wasn’t just dismissed from his family’s company and doesn’t still have a terrible relationship with his former stepmother. But this is the direction The Bold and the Beautiful is going for the time being, so I’ll do my best not to be too salty about it.

Here’s the full recap of events.

What happened to The Bold and the Beautiful today?

Taylor was under the belief that judgement day had finally arrived for Sheila Carter. She happily attempted to bolster Steffy and Finn’s confidence before the scheduled hearing. For their part, they did their best not to let on that they’re hiding a very big secret from her. Taylor left their home after stating how proud she is that they’re doing this unaware that Sinn are conflicted.

The couple both want Sheila to go to the prison for the rest of her life, but they don’t want to ignore the real possibility that Bill will make good on his threat. Finn looks to be taking Steffy’s lead on this, however she decides to play this will be the same way he does. Even though the episode ended before the two made a decision during the hearing, it’s hard to believe Steffy would risk sending her mom to jail.

Taylor’s been a bubbly presence on the soap for awhile now and her joy over Sheila’s arrest seems to be boundless. She shared her happiness with Brooke, her new found friend, at Forrester Creations. Their conversation didn’t shed new light on any happenings on the soap that the audience may not have been privy to, but Brooke did fill Taylor in on Katie’s visit with Bill.

Just like the Logan, Taylor’s grateful for the action the CEO took. Everyone’s under the impression he immediately turned Sheila in but that wasn’t the case. So this hearing that they’re all excited about could take an unexpected turn for them. Sheila sure believes it will.

Her reunion with Deacon at the jail, which was very sweet I might add, consisted of her telling him without telling him that she’s going to be okay. He was skeptical about this miracle she seems to believe will happen for her and even thought she may be putting on an act to make him feel better, but he also assured her that he wasn’t going to abandon her.

Deacon explained that he hadn’t come to see Sheila earlier because he’d just returned from being out of town. Remember, he told his co-worker that he needed to go to Italy to raise funds for his eventual take over of Il Giardino which he’s going to rename Deacon’s Place. Presumably, that’s exactly what he did, we’ll have to wait for more on that plot.

Anyway, that’s why it took so long for him to arrive, but it’s clear he’s her true friend. Deacon said he cared about Sheila and that there was a part of him pulling for her to somehow keep herself out of jail even though he knew that wasn’t likely. He also blamed himself, but she told him not to because she’s not behind bars because of him. If only he knew there was a double entendre in that sentence.

Deacon did question why Sheila would have gone to Bill’s in the first place, but she hurried him past that inquiry and focused on their conversation presently. Before the two said their goodbyes in the visitors room, he promised he’d come to see her in jail. He’s not going to leave her to go through the hardship of imprisonment alone. He also thanked her for not saying anything about their involvement, it means a lot to him that she kept her word which kept him out of jail as well.

As I stated earlier, I hope we’ll still get Deacon and Sheila’s relationship down the road, but I know it’s taking a backseat for her new dynamic with Bill. Speaking of Dollar Bill, he was suited and booted, looking sharp as he wreaked havoc on Sinn’s lives.

Before the proceedings, he made an appearance in the judge’s chambers to remind the couple of his threat. They still couldn’t believe he’s doing this to them, but he’s very much serious about the consequences they’ll suffer if they cross him. Bill even dragged Li into it, stating that if she’s not kept quiet as well, he’ll shine a light on the laws she broke falsifying Finn’s death record so she could care for him herself.

And, if you thought that was the end of Bill’s dastardly deeds, you thought wrong. He also spied on the proceedings with a video feed that Sheila was also aware of. When Judge Craig McMullen walked in, it got me wondering if Bill might have something on him, too. Steffy pointed out that no matter what, Sheila’s going to serve time whether they keep quiet or not. She escaped prison after all. But, see, this judge presided over Katie and Bill’s custody case.

He wasn’t impartial then because Ridge called in a favor and pushed for the judge to give Katie sole custody of Will. Obviously, that situation resolved with Bill still retaining his parental rights to his son, but perhaps there’s a reason this particular judge is back on the soap and it’s how Bill’s going to get Sheila out of this mess.

I know we all can’t wait to see what Sinn decide to do. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
