Will Trent premiered Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 on ABC and the series is already proving to be a great new addition to our broadcast watch-list! The show, starring  Ramón Rodríguez also streams on Hulu the next day.

Rodríguez takes on the role of the titular character, a Special Agent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Joining the actor onscreen are Erika Christensen as Angie Polaski, Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell, Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood, and Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner.

The leading man, Liz Heldens, Daniel Thomsen, Karin Slaughter, and Oly Obst all serve as executive producers. Heldens and Thomsen are also writers on the series. As of Jan. 11, the first two episodes of the drama have aired. So if you haven’t checked it out yet, you may be wondering what the series is all about. We’ve got the answer for you below!

What is Will Trent about?

Will Trent, which is based a series of books by author Karin Slaughter, is centered around the character who works at the GBI. He grew up in Atlanta’s “overwhelmed foster care system,” per the synopsis. Now with his position as a Special Agent, he’s going to do all he can to make sure no is abandoned the way he was at birth.

The pilot episode saw Will having to rely on his “keen instincts” to uncover the truth regarding a murder investigation. As he does this, the special agent is reunited with a part of his past that shaped him into the agent he is now, per the synopsis. In episode 2, Will is frustrated with not being able to find a suspect in an investigation of a missing girl and Angie navigates her complicated history with Will.

Will Trent premieres new episodes Tuesday nights on ABC. Episodes are available to stream the next day they air on Hulu.
