The most recent episode of CBS’s hit drama NCIS ended on a bit of a somber note that has many running to Google for answers about the identity of Terrence O’Hara.

Following the broadcast of season 20 episode 11, “Bridges,” the NCIS team paid tribute to O’Hara via an emotional tribute at the end of the episode. “In memory of our dear friend and colleague, Terrence O’Hara. We will miss you,” read the tribute card that closed out the episode.

The tribute was designed to honor the late O’Hara, who passed away in December of cancer, but the inclusion of the tribute has left many fans curious to learn more about O’Hara and his connection to the show.

If you don’t recognize the name Terrence O’Hara, it’s likely due to the fact that O’Hara did not work as part of the cast but rather as a member of the creative team who helped bring the show to life.

O’Hara was a television director who was best known for his work on NCIS and NCIS: LA, though the two shows were just a few of the many titles O’Hara worked on over his years in the industry having also worked on projects including Smallville, Angel, Grimm, and more.

During his career, O’Hara directed a total of 56 episodes of NCIS and 29 episodes of NCIS: LA, with his final directing credit for the season 19 finale of NCIS, “Birds of a Feather.”
