Bill and Sheila finally were able to have a moment of peace on Jan. 18’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful as he warned his sons away from his home and the Forresters and Logans went back to lick their wounds. This let the soap’s newest couple have some alone time by the fireplace to express their love for one another.

However, while they were basking in the afterglow of their union, Steffy and Finn were rehashing what had happened and how things had gone completely against them with Sheila’s release. They then had to explain themselves to Li who came in fiery and ready to drag their nemesis back to jail even if she had to do it herself.

It wasn’t until Sinn filled her in, with a bit of editing to protect Taylor and Steffy, that she understood just how far Bill’s willing to go for his new love. After all, he looped her into this mess, too, by threatening to reveal her own illegal activity when she saved Finn.

Here’s the recap of events!

The Bold and the Beautiful recap (Jan. 18)

Sheila finally got to slip into something nice and settle in for the night like she’d planned to do before Taylor, Steffy, and Katie stormed into Spencer Mansion to try to persuade Bill to leave her. At first, she’d been concerned that they’d have more interruptions but Bill, who’d changed into an all black outfit, assured her that wouldn’t happen.

Sure, his phone had been blowing up with messages from Liam and Wyatt demanding to know why he’s sided with her, but he told them he wouldn’t be taking anymore lectures at this time and he meant it. So for now they’ve been put on pause.

For Shill, the night was full of love as they declared their affection for one another and showed it in action as well. Sheila seems to have a fascination with Bill’s sword necklace because, while they were cuddled up in the sheets, she once again began to extol his best qualities while fiddling with the piece of jewelry. It’s meant to be a symbol of strength and she’s never had someone of his power, influence, and cunning be enamored with her before.

Bill backs up his words with actions. And, while it did seem like Katie’s words touched his heart, he’s still not giving up an opportunity to be with a woman who accepts all of him. Though I do take exception to the idea that Bill ever tried to “fit in” with the Forresters and the Logans. No he did not. At most, he tried to calm his more volatile nature and think before he acted whenever Katie or Liam called on his better angels but that’s about it.

Meanwhile, while Shill were luxuriating in their love, Katie was leaning on Carter. She was floored by Bill’s decision to put her out and let Sheila continue to be in his life. As she told Carter, she’d tried everything to get Bill to see how detrimental his choice is to them all, but he didn’t change his mind. Not even for Will.

Katie’s guilt was palpable. Carter did his best to soothe her by holding her and letting her process her emotions. Speaking of processing, Li had to do some of her own after she barged into Steffy and Finn’s home. She’d come straight from a medical conference and needed to know just how Sheila Carter managed to go free.

Sinn hedged briefly before Finn haltingly told his mom that Bill had interceded on Sheila’s behalf and kept them from testifying by way of blackmail. He said they wouldn’t be going into details on what leverage Bill has on them and Li didn’t push him on it. She was too caught up in being outraged to clock her son’s weird behavior and that of his wife’s.

Once she learned that Sheila needed to be charged with a new crime in order to see her day in court, Li said she’d come forward about what Sheila had done to her. Of course, then she had to be filled in on the totality of Bill’s threats which included going to the authorities over the fake death certificate she’d issued for Finn when she smuggled him out of the hospital to care for him off-site. Li broke the law when she did that and she could lose her medical license if it were found out, or worse, be put in jail.

Steffy vowed, however, that she’ll find a way to make Bill and Sheila pay. How she’s going to do that is anyone’s guess, but she’s determined to put her nemesis back behind bars.

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
