The Last of Us episode 3 had the waterworks going as we saw two new characters introduced, Bill played by Nick Offerman and Frank portrayed by Murray Bartlett.

The show took us back to 2003 where survivalist Bill is living alone in his secret bunker that has everything he needs to protect himself and survive. Along with this, he sets traps for those infected around his property. One day four years later, Frank comes along after he gets caught in one of his traps. But after proving to not be infected, Bill lets him stay. And from then on, the two never part.

How are the two lovebirds connected to the story? Well, even though Bill was reluctant at first, the couple ends up becoming friends with Joel and Tess. The two remain together for years, but Frank unfortunately gets sick. Now this is where the waterworks come in! On their final day side by side, they decide to crush up sleeping pills and move on to the afterlife together.

In the present, Joel and Ellie get to the house and our hero finds a key and note from his old friend. The two on the run find Bill’s car in the garage and continue their mission to look for Tommy, Joel’s brother, since he used to be a Firefly.
