Alaska Daily will not return with new episodes in February 2023

Alaska Daily, the new ABC series that premiered last October, has found an audience not only with fans of lead actress Hilary Swank but also those intrigued by mysteries that cover topics not often explored on broadcast television.

When viewers began their journey with disgraced investigative journalist Eileen Fitzgerald (Swank), she’d left a high profile lifestyle in New York City for a daily metro newspaper in Anchorage. Eileen was on a personal and professional redemption arc.

The full story, however, encompasses cold cases involving Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) as Eileen works with Rosalind Friendly (Grace Dove), an Alaskan Native reporter, to cover what they find and shed light on how these girls and women have been abandoned by the system.

The show last left off with episode 6, “You Can’t Put a Price on Life,” which saw two local women go missing but the attention their cases got was uneven so much so that Roz grew frustrated. The paper ran a comparison piece on the two to show the difference. Also there was headway on Gloria’s case. Bob gave Roz and Eileen a lead. But the reporters had to deal with escalating threats after they appeared on “Concerned Citizens,” a local radio show.

Fans anticipated seeing episode 7 on Thursday, Feb. 23, but Alaska Daily‘s return has been delayed meaning the series won’t be returning this month. When does it resume airing new episodes? Here’s what we know!

When does Alaska Daily return with new episodes in 2023?

Alaska Daily‘s midseason premiere, “Enemy of the People,” airs Thursday, March 2 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on ABC. The team will be racing to help Eileen before it’s too late. If you miss the episode, you’ll be able to stream it Friday on abc.com and Hulu.

TVLine reports viewers can expect to watch the remainder of the season without interruptions for five consecutive weeks. The finale will air Thursday, March 30. A renewal for season 2 has yet be announced for the series.
