Which Supernatural alum will return to The Winchesters?

The Winchesters is about to get another Supernatural alum. Who will be in the show, and who is this person going to play?

We’ve already had a couple of Supernatural alums on the show. Richard Speight Jr. returned as Loki—yes, Loki and not Gabriel pretending to be Loki—and there was a brief cameo from Rob Benedict, although he wasn’t playing God/Chuck. Then there’s been Jensen Ackles showing up as Dean, and we did see Henry Winchester return.

Now eyes are on the next return. One of the things about The Winchesters is that it’s set pre-Supernatural, which makes returning characters difficult but certainly not impossible.

Ruth Connell is back in the Supernatural prequel

The witch is back. Yes, it’s Ruth Connell who will be in The Winchesters, and she will appear in the Tuesday, Feb. 21 episode. This is the penultimate hour of the first season, and it could be the penultimate hour of the series as a whole. The CW still hasn’t made a decision about the freshman series.

Connell is back as Rowena, according to Entertainment Weekly, which isn’t that surprising. We know that the natural witch has been around since the 16th century, and she’s never changed her luck. This isn’t a case of possession but just growing older a lot slower—or even at all?

Rowena was more of a villain when she was introduced in Supernatural Seasno 10. That would suggest she’s going to be someone working against Mary and John in The Winchesters. Of course, she is a woman who looks out for her own survival, so she could team up with the ’70s Scooby Gang and help them take down the villain.
