Well, it finally happened. Bill Spencer popped the question to Sheila Carter on The Bold and the Beautiful today in the hopes that she’ll disclose her deepest, darkest secrets. While we didn’t get to hear her answer just yet, we did bear witness to how moved she was by the gesture and the gorgeous black statement engagement ring he’d purchased for her.

As Bill told Ridge earlier in the episode, his decision to ask for Sheila’s hand in marriage is a ploy to get her to open up. Sheila’s always wanted to love and be loved in return, but she’s yet to share with the billionaire the stories behind the murders she committed. Bill’s of the mind this is because she needs further reassurance that his feelings for her aren’t going anywhere and that they actually do have a life together. So, he proposed.

I think it should be noted that plenty of people get married and still don’t clue their spouses into the heinous acts they’ve done in the past. Bill’s plan isn’t exactly sound and comes off as more of a Hail Mary, but you can’t say he’s not doing his best to bring Sheila to justice.

The Bold and the Beautiful recap

Ridge and the FBI agent manning the cameras catching the proposal at Spencer Mansion, hope this actually does work in their favor. This trio has been at this for months and are beyond ready to send Sheila to jail for good. Ridge hasn’t had to do the heavy lifting in this plot, as Bill keeps pointing out, he has been missing out on time with his family just like his now frenemy.

Today, he even received a phone call from Brooke’s father Stephen so the older gentleman could ask why he wasn’t home protecting his loved ones from Sheila. He’s been angry at his former son-in-law since he found out that he’d left Brooke with no word on why he’d dissolved their marriage and planned on moving on with Taylor.

Rehashing that bit of the plot with his girlfriend, Lucy, and his daughter brought those feelings up to the surface and he just had to say some words to Ridge himself. For his part, Ridge attempted not to be rude but he hurried Stephen off the phone so he could go back to watching Bill propose to Sheila. He did, however, say that he’s going to do everything in his power to protect his loved ones. Stephen wasn’t clear on what that meant, but Brooke assured him that’s what Ridge says he’s doing besides “finding himself.” He’s making sure his family is safe.

Stephen’s just glad this back and forth between Brooke and Taylor is over. Though he’s certainly not fond of how this all went down since it started with Thomas’ fraudulent call to CPS pretending to be Brooke, but it’s clear his daughter’s in a good place so he’s holding onto that knowledge.

Across the hall, Steffy was making sure that things with the Hope for the Future line are going to go smoothly with no hiccups due to some undisclosed feelings. Once again, she and Hope discussed what may be hidden under the surface for the brand ambassador when it comes to Thomas Forrester.

Steffy told her she’d talked to Paris, and the head of the Forrester Foundation had shared Hope finds Thomas to be hot. Flabbergasted that acknowledging her lead designer’s attractiveness is being brought up in this manner, Hope tried to dismiss the statement as something she said in passing that would have no bearing on how she conducts herself professionally.

Thomas being attractive hasn’t been an issue for the models or other employees at the company, and Hope knows Steffy not going to question them on it so she felt singled out. Steffy pointed out that none of them share a child or a complicated history with Thomas either.

Seeing no other choice but to firmly and decisively assert that the only feelings she has for her son’s father is that of someone who needs him to revive her line, Hope made her position clear. We’ll see if that changes down the road, but Steffy was determined to get some kind of answer out of Hope and she got it just like she had Thomas’ assertion that he’s not obsessed with Hope anymore and that he’s only concerned with being a better man and reviving HFTF.

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
