How many episodes does The Flash season 9 have?

The Flash is currently airing its final run. The series, which has been on air nearly a decade, has seen Barry go from a lovably awkward CSI at the GCPD to the scarlet speedster who routinely saves the day in Central City. In some ways, fans have been watching him go from a young adult to a grown man right before their eyes.

Season 9, which so far doesn’t have an overarching narrative, has been focusing on what it means to have a pre-determined destiny, Caitlin’s fate which has led to Khione’s appearance, and Iris’ long awaited pregnancy storyline. The season is airing outside of its typical fall slot, it became a midseason offer for The CW. As such its episode count has been affected. Here’s how long you’ll have with the show before it ends.

The Flash season 9 episode count

This may surprise you but the show’s final run is going to be its shortest season ever. While a season of the series typically has 18-23 episodes that isn’t the case for season 9. You can’t anticipate the show airing into the summer like Riverdale will be doing for its 20 episode final season. Barry’s journey is set to end in May ahead of Nancy Drew‘s fourth and final season.

Season 9 has a total of 13 episodes. It premiered on Wednesday, March 8 and, at the time of writing, seven episodes of the season have aired. There are only six episodes left before fans have to bid adieu to The Flash.
