Air movie cast: Who’s in the Nike sports biopic?

Lace up your sneakers folks! The biographical sports drama Air premieres in theaters nationwide on Wednesday April 5. The film is based on true events about the origin of the Air Jordan basketball shoe line, of which a Nike, Inc. employee seeks to strike a business deal with rookie player Michael Jordan.

Early reviews have come in due to the fact that the film premiered at South by Southwest on March 18, and it looks like the film is being received positively. Air is poised to showcase the reality of deal making in the endorsement side of sports. The film is directed by Ben Affleck from a script written by Alex Convery.

Air is produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports, Artists Equity, and Mandalay Pictures. The film is distributed domestically and internationally by Amazon Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures respectively.

The film will also be the first film under Amazon Studios that will not have a simultaneous release on the company’s streaming service, Amazon Prime. That being said, this is a star studded film that just so happens to highlight one of the most famed sports legends in basketball history so it’s definitely worth the watch in-theaters.
