Sheila Carter’s fate on The Bold and the Beautiful has been the talk of the soap world. When it was revealed that Bill had been playing her the entire time they were together in order to get her to confess to murder, fans and those who keep up on the daytime program wondered what she’d do when she found out.

Well, the way the plot unfolds isn’t in Sheila’s favor. She’d taken Bill at his word that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and make her his wife. The commitment signified in the engagement ring he gave her was enough for Sheila to open up about the blood that is on her hands. She confessed that an altercation led to Dr. Jay Garvin’s death after he fell off the balcony and landed on the concrete beneath.

But what Bill really wanted to hear came when she told him that she’d premeditated the murder of Lance Day, an actor she’d blackmailed who was going to admit his dealings with her. Sheila knew that he was allergic to bees so she trapped him in his room and watched as their stings eventually killed him.

When Sheila realized she made a mistake trusting Bill, after catching him on the phone talking about how he’d finally “got her,” the two argued. He laid into her about how evil she is and repeatedly said no one could love someone like her. In anger, Sheila lunged for him and when he moved out of the way, she fell off the balcony.

But, in true soap fashion, the fall didn’t kill her nor did it keep her down for long. Sheila managed to escape Bill’s property before the authorities could arrive. She ran to Il Giardino, Deacon’s place of business and where he lives, in the hopes that she could convince him to run away with her. Unfortunately for her, it was revealed that her second lover was also working with the FBI and Lt. Baker and that Deacon was simply stalling her so they could arrive.

Once again she escaped before they could arrest her, but that wasn’t for long. It’s unclear if her declining health was due to her fall or the stress of the situation or both, but when Bill cornered her, they only spoke briefly before she collapsed due to a heart attack.

Sheila was taken to the hospital where she was placed in the care of Dr. Li Finnegan, her son Finn’s adoptive mom who she nearly killed by running her off the road. Li had no interest in saving Sheila’s life once she flatlined, but the choice was taken out of her hands when Finn rushed into the room and chose not to be responsible for his biological mother’s death.

Though she flatlined once more before he and the attending nurse could stabilize her, Sheila did regain consciousness and got to see that her son saved her life. In her mind, this is proof that he loves her just like she has consistently said he does.

For now it looks like Sheila’s out of the woods when it comes to the worst of her health scare, however, now that she’s at Li’s mercy, she certainly isn’t going to get much time to rest. Not to mention she’s got a murder charge to face and she’s been cuffed to the bed. Sheila’s specialty is getting out of tough situations, let’s see if she’s able to do so again.
