Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, a spin-off prequel series in the beloved Grease franchise, makes its debut Thursday, Apr. 6 on Paramount+. The show will drop viewers into a story that takes place before Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson’s romance took Rydell High by storm. The year is 1954 and “Brainy Janie” had a wonderful summer with Buddy, a jock whose romance with her comes as a surprise to his friend group and the rest of their fellow high school students.

Through a series of unforeseen events, the two’s relationship is put under strain and sets the path for Jane to carve out a new identity with her friends–Nancy, Cynthia, and Olivia–who are also misfits and outcasts like her. Together they form the Pink Ladies, a girl gang who defy what’s expected of the girls at Rydell and fight for what’s right even if they have to be bad to do it.

This series is the Pink Ladies’ origin story and its full of as much bounce and fun as its film predecessors in the franchise. Also, by virtue of being a show, there’s even more music. both original songs and needle drops that’ll have you grooving and singing along.

This Paramount+ original has a total of 10 episodes, the first two will premiere on Thursday, Apr. 6 and then the show will move to weekly releases that’ll carry viewers through April and May into the start of June. Keep reading for episode premiere dates.
