When is Rick and Morty season 6 streaming on HBO Max?

One adult animated series that’s certainly popular is Rick and Morty! The animated sitcom first debuted in December 2013 on Adult Swim, and has been a success since. Back in 2018 the company gave the show a massive renewal – a total of 70 new episodes! That means the series will be around until at least season 10. While that’s exciting, some of you might be wondering when Rick and Morty season 6 will be streaming online.

The series starred co-creator Justin Roiland as the voice of both titular characters, Chris Parnell as Jerry smith, Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith, and Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith. Season 6 was the last time Roiland would be working on the show as Adult Swim fired him following domestic battery allegations. As of March 2023, charges were dropped against him due to  “insufficient evidence,” per Deadline. The characters will be recast going into season 7.

The first five seasons of the show are currently streaming on both Hulu and HBO Max. So what about season 6? When will it be available to watch online? Read on below!

When is Rick and Morty season 6 streaming on HBO Max?

Unfortunately we don’t have an exact date of when Rick and Morty season 6 will be streaming on HBO Max, but we can make some educated guesses. According to Decider, the sixth season of the science-fiction sitcom could arrive anywhere between six to nine months following the season 6 finale. The last episode of the season aired Dec. 11, 2022, so that would put us at some point in June through September 2023.

The news outlet shares that season 3 arrived on streaming nine months after its finale, the fourth season came seven months later, and then season 5 premiered its finale in September 2021 with the season coming to Hulu and HBO Max six months later in February 2022. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for Rick and Morty season 6!

The series is centered around Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith. Rick is an alcoholic and scientist who usually gets the easily distressed Morty wrapped into his travels to other dimensions and planets. Their adventures also cause trouble for the family, who sometimes go along for the ride as well.
