The Bold and the Beautiful recap (April 14): Steffy reassures Liam

It was a slow Friday on The Bold and the Beautiful. We were dropped back with Liam and Steffy as they spent time together at Forrester Creations. The two co-parents and best friends don’t tend to have a lot of one-on-one scenes together so the focus they’ve gotten in the previous episode and today was quite nice.

Steffy brought some much needed levity to Liam who has been stressing about Hope and Thomas’ work relationship and the possibility that Thomas might try to cross the line again. She got him to laugh by showing a video of Kelly participating in a scavenger hunt where she got a bit too zealous and pushed another kid over. The two laughed over how much like her mother she is, as Kelly is definitely Steffy’s mini me.

Then the conversation turned to Thope again with Steffy assuring Liam that she wouldn’t have suggested Thomas work with Hope again if she had seen any red flags at all. He seemed to be soothed by what she had to say, but when he spoke with Thomas later that peace went out the window.

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?

Fresh from a conversation with Hope, Thomas was once again designing a gorgeous dress for the collection he’s been working on for HFTF. He and Hope had shared a laugh together after she’d admitted that she’s been having crazy thoughts lately. Thomas commiserated with her, but also said that his crazy thoughts aren’t anything like hers, he’s sure (if only he knew!).

Now he tends to have visions of whether he should drop a neckline or add ruffles. Hope teased him, adopting an appalled voice because no one likes ruffles. She flushed over the interaction and he delighted in their ability to have fun with one another, he was unaware that Hope’s crazy thoughts involve her fantasizing about him and reveling in the time they’ve had with each other.

However, Thomas must be picking up on something because in the middle of reassuring Liam once more that he’s very aware that he and Hope have a working relationship, he said he’d say no even if she came on to him. What little ground he had gained with Liam disappeared after that. Liam couldn’t believe he was even entertaining the possibility of Hope hitting on him because that would never happen, and Thomas was confused by Liam’s reaction.

Across the hall, Steffy checked in on how things were going with Hope personally. She had been on a call, but finished up quickly once Hope walked into the room. It gave her an opportunity to gauge what’s been going on at home with the brand ambassador since she’s aware things have been strained with her and Liam over Thomas being rehired.

Hope said things were fine and did lament Liam’s position, but she’s concentrated on work just like Thomas is. Steffy informed Hope that she’s also spoken to Liam and told him things are strictly professional between Thope and he has nothing to worry about. When she asked for confirmation on this, Hope paused, but then she did agree.

The two (former) rivals are happy that they’re in a good place. Steffy said that Finn’s the love of her life and she knows Liam’s the love of Hope’s, so it’s nice that despite all they’ve been through, they’re where they’re supposed to be. Though Hope nodded along, her eyes strayed to a picture of Thomas, so perhaps she’s not feeling as convinced as Steffy that she’s with the person she should be with which is interesting as Hope’s rarely questioned where her heart lies.

Speaking of hearts, Hollis is trying to open his to Brooke. As she and Taylor were grabbing lunch at Il Giardino, he shamelessly flirted with her. Even another customer who also had her sights on him couldn’t get his head to turn away from Brooke. Seeing an opportunity for the two to talk, Taylor feigned an important call to a client and left momentarily.

Hollis used his chance to tell Brooke how much he’s been thinking about her. He knows she said she wasn’t ready to date, and that everyone calls Ridge the love of her life, but he wants her to give him a chance. For her part, she couldn’t believe she was still on his mind considering so many women are interested in him, but he said he could say the same about her when it comes to men.

He asked her out again, but we didn’t get an answer from Brooke before the episode ended. There was only Taylor looking on fondly as Hollis took his shot. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
