Ghosted premieres Friday, Apr. 21 on Apple TV+. The film, which is a joint venture between Apple and Skydance, is Chris Evans’ return to romcoms. He plays Cole, a man who believes he’s finally found “the one” after a chance encounter with a woman named Sadie (Ana de Armas) leads to a night that leaves quite an impression on him.

It seems, however, Sadie may not feel the same as she pulls a classic move and ghosts him. Refusing to believe that she didn’t experience a similar overwhelming connection, Cole decides to make a grand romantic gesture to go see her in London. She’s not answering his text but that doesn’t mean she’s not thinking of him, too, right?

Well, it turns out that Sadie was busy with work and not just any work. She’s an international spy and Cole’s leap for love has actually landed him in the middle of a mission to save the world. He finds this out the hard way when he’s kidnapped and Sadie has to rescue him. Before the two can even decide on a second date, they have to worry about not losing life or limb.

As you can see, Ghosted is also an action adventure. It’s been rated PG-13. Here’s why!

Ghosted age rating explained

According to the MPAA, the film is rated for audiences 13 and up due to “sequences of strong violence/action, brief strong language and some sexual content.”

Given the genre the movie is a part of, violent, action-filled sequences are par for the course. Profanity isn’t uncommon either, however, the mention of it being brief means that strong language is infrequent and likely regulated to a sentence here or there.

As shown in Ghosted‘s trailer there is a scene with Cole and Sadie in bed together. This could mean that the sexual content in the film is relegated to that intimate encounter alone, though there could be other scenes in the movie. However, due to the PG-13 rating of the film, the scene(s) won’t be explicit or graphic in nature.
