Fire Country episode 15, “False Promises,” was a harrowing hour of television where four lives hung in the balance. It was the day of Sharon’s transplant surgery where Jake would give her his kidney which was already hard on the characters but you add in a crisis where Eve was trapped under a tree and the tension on the CBS primetime drama skyrocketed.

Unfortunately, one of Cal Fire’s crew didn’t make it out alive. While that was evident in the opening sequence with Bode running through camp in despair and Gabriela chasing after him, “False Promises” waited until the end of the episode to reveal who didn’t survive the night. Who lost their life? Here’s what we know!

Did Jake die on Fire Country?

No, it wasn’t Jake. He did, however, have a scare. While he was on the operating table, Jake had a severe allergic reaction to the anesthesia meant to put him under so they could perform surgery. The doctors and nurses were able to stabilize him, but his inability to go under the knife prevented him from donating his kidney to Sharon.

Did Sharon die on Fire Country?

Thankfully, Sharon didn’t die either. She’d woken up from her anesthesia fine and had no complications. But, of course, because Jake can’t donate his kidney, she’s not out of the woods when it comes to her health. In “False Promises,” she decides that she doesn’t want to try again at the surgery with Bode has her donor, she’d rather live out her days doing what she’s put off like going to Yosemite.

Did Eve die on Fire Country?

Though she was very nearly crushed by a fallen tree, the Three Rock crew (both the men’s and women’s camp) were able to save Eve’s life. They’d done their best to relieve the weight of the tree on her body and when the helicopter landed miles away, they pulled her out with Rebecca ensuring she got Eve’s caught boot out of the way.

Did Rebecca die on Fire Country?

Yes. She managed to help get Eve out from under the tree but it was unstable. Bode wasn’t able to pull her out of the way before it fell again and it crushed her. Rebecca’s team got her clear, but she’d sustained major injuries and was bleeding internally. They made a make shift gurney and carried her down to awaiting paramedics, but her health started flagging. At the hospital they did was they could, but Rebecca had bled too much and she died.

Before she passed, Rebecca was an integral part of saving Eve’s life, she called in a favor to the Innocent Project so they could review Freddie case, and she helped Bode with his furlough form so he could be at the hospital with his mom after her surgery. She touched a lot of lives.
