Is a new episode of The Ark on tonight? (April 26)
Our Wednesday nights have been taken up by a sci-fi series set 100 years in the future. Is The Ark going to air a new episode tonight, Wednesday, April 26?
For 12 weeks, we’ve watched the crew of Ark One survive one disaster after another. There is always something trying to kill them, and the last episode certainly left us with a lot of questions. Just as it looked like they would land on a planet, the non-frozen water turned out to be something deadly.
Now we’re left with hope that Ark One and Ark Fifteen can work together to save what could be left of humankind. The question is whether we’ll get to see the next part of the story tonight.
That’s where we have some bad news. If the previous episode felt more like a season finale then a normal cliffhanger, that’s because that is what it was. There isn’t a new episode tonight, and there won’t be one for a while.
Is The Ark Season 2 happening on SYFY?
The good news is that we’re only waiting for the next season. This isn’t a show where we’re in uncertain territory. SYFY renewed The Ark for Season 2 ahead of the penultimate episode so we were able to go into the finale knowing we’d get answers to the questions left over.
What we don’t know is when Season 2 will happen. SYFY does have the ability to bring shows back after just a year, but there are some that take longer. It’s going to depend on production timelines, post-production work, and the scheduling of other shows on the network.
The good news is work has started on Season 2. Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner shared a few teases of what’s to come, including where the second season is going to pick up.
