If there’s one thing Bob’s Burgers does great, it’s bottle episodes. There is something so great about the Belchers being stuck in a room together.

I mean it makes sense since the Belcher family loves each other. Seeing all of them stuck in one area always results in hilarity. It’s especially great when Bob and Linda end up having to be the kids’ source of entertainment.

That’s what I pictured when I heard the episode title and description. However, we’re talking about Bob’s Burgers, so expecting the unexpected is best.

With that being said, this is your spoiler warning for the Bob’s Burgers episode, “Radio No You Didn’t.” There will be spoilers discussed from this point on.

This is what you missed on “Radio No You Didn’t” on Bob’s Burgers.

The episode begins with the entire family in Bob and Linda’s bedroom with Linda cleaning out the closet and Bob trying to get dressed until Linda finds Bob’s grandmother’s radio. Linda wants to throw it away but Bob doesn’t so he starts sharing his grandma’s story. We find out that the static on the radio would put Bob’s mom to sleep but eventually, Bob’s grandmother overheard a German radio.

She ends up figuring out that the enemy’s radio was on their building’s roof and goes to investigate where she finds a shoeprint. She tries to connect it to Peter, their neighbor who keeps popping up and she thinks he’s knocking on the door but it’s just her mom’s admirer, Mr. Miller. While he’s holding Lily, she drops her rattle and Alice sees his shoes which are covered in pigeon poo like he was on the roof.

After a few minutes, she’s trying to figure out if he knows that she knows he’s a spy and she tries to call the police. It all comes to a head when he pulls the phone and breaks the cord. He’s angry and starts to come after Alice and Lily but Gertie comes in so Alice drops the radio on Mr. Miller who was the spy while she, Gertie, and Lily get away. The episode ends with the kids fighting over inheriting the radio while we find out Peter was planning to propose and that’s why he was so secretive.

“Radio No You Didn’t” is a history lesson for the Belcher family.

If there’s one word I’d use to describe Season 13 of Bob’s Burgers, it would be family. Ever since The Bob’s Burgers Movie, we’ve focused a lot on the Belcher family history. None of the episodes hold a candle to “Show Mama From the Grave” as it focused a lot on Bob’s family which was a rarity before now.

While Lily Belcher is the character most of us think of, it was nice to see Lily’s mother, Alice’s story, and even, see Alice’s mother, Gertie. All in all, I feel like this is a pretty typical end-of-season episode as it gave a lot of valuable information about the family yet had a decent storyline. That’s not to say it’s the best of all the family-focused episodes yet it was one I know will be talked about within the lore of the show.

As far as bottle episodes go, I feel like this was a good one. “Radio No You Didn’t” featured a good storyline and even had some commentary from the family which is always good. There were even a few comedic moments. Since it’s nearing the end of the season, I’m excited to see what’s coming next for the Belchers.
