10 Netflix reality shows and competitions to stream in May 2023
By Sabrina Reed
May’s offerings for Netflix reality shows and competitions have a little something for everybody! The most anticipated release is definitely Queer Eye season 7. The last season premiered at the tail end of 2021, so fans of the hit reality makeover series went through all of 2022 without a new installment. But the Fab 5 are back for 2023 and this time they’ll be helping people in the Big Easy. That’s right, this season takes place in New Orleans!
Antoni, Bobbi, Jonathan, Karamo, and Tan will be helping frat bros, a Saints super fan, a thrift store owner who was formerly imprisoned, and more over the course of seven episodes that are sure to warm your heart and (potentially) make you cry.
If you’re looking for new dating series to dive into there are three to enjoy: Love Village which features singles over 35 looking for love as they share a house together, Jewish Matchmaking which follows Aleeza Ben Shalom, an expert matchmaker helping Jewish singles from around the world, and The Ultimatum: Queer Love which has the same premise as the first season but features a cast comprised of only women and non-binary people looking to leave the experiment engaged or parted from their partner who won’t commit to marriage.
As for food competition series, you can expect the seventh season of Great British Baking Show: Juniors and the return of Barbecue Showdown for its second season. Here’s more to look forward to in May on Netflix.
