The Rookie finished up Season 5 with a stunning finale that put one officer in major danger. Did the LAPD lose another cop this week?

What happened on The Rookie Season 5 finale?

“Under Siege” opened with Thorsen and Juarez walking through an alley when masked men attacked them. Thorsen was shot in the back, while Juarez was badly beaten. Naturally, the entire force was out to find out who did this.

Nolan and Bailey were attacked in their home, with Nolan shooting one assailant, who turned out to be a paid mercenary. Nyla and James also had their daughter briefly abducted. They checked out a location only for Tim and Chen to be attacked by more masked men, with the lead suspect choosing suicide by cop.

Nolan noted how this all made little sense as a car was shown leaving the crime scene as a man (Kristian Bruun) laughed at how this whole thing was a huge distraction from their real target and the cops had no idea “the damage we’ve done.”

What happened to Aaron on The Rookie?

The episode ended at the hospital with Angela giving birth to a daughter. Thorsen was out of surgery but in a coma with Juraez at his bedside, pleading for him to recover. Suddenly, his monitors went wild as the doctors raced in as the episode came to a close.

That’s a huge cliffhanger for fans to make them wonder if The Rookie has once more killed off a major character. Fans will recall the Season 4 premiere opened with the shocking murder of Jackson West by drug dealers. The question here is if Thorsen recovers or not.

Thankfully, The Rookie has already been renewed for season 6, so fans can spend the summer fretting over Thorsen’s ultimate fate.
