Spoiler Warning: This article contains immediate spoilers for Survivor 44 episode 10, “Full Tilt Boogie.”

Survivor 44 episode 10 might not be a surprise for fans who have watched the entire season. If you’ve seen the building momentum over the past few weeks, the next person to join the jury will not be shocking. But, if you have been watching the entire season, you also know another player’s read on what’s been going on has been spot on!

Who had to win immunity in Survivor 44 episode 10 to stay in the game?

There’s only one player who definitely had to win immunity to avoid being voted out. Her name: Frannie Marin. Yes, she won two individual immunity challenges. Yes, her best friend in the game was voted out. On top of that, other players tried to vote her out a couple of weeks ago when Danny played his idol on her. So, she’s been on top of the chopping block for quite some time.

To make matters worse, because winning a reward is not always a good thing, Frannie won the challenge where love letters from home were awaiting her and three players of her choosing. Despite her solid gameplay, Frannie was left out of last week’s vote; meaning, she had to decide who to bring along and hope it could help her navigate beyond Survivor 44 episode 10.

After winning the reward challenge, Frannie selected Carolyn, Lauren, and Heidi and they shared every heartfelt emotion as they read letters from home. Understanding what players are playing for, while also learning about what they’ve had to overcome in their lives, is nothing short of an emotional roller coaster for them and viewers. Once the letters are read, strategy talks begin, but it’s only an important conversation if everyone is open to each person’s ideas of who to vote out.

Who were the targets in episode 10’s vote on Survivor 44?

It is absolutely clear Frannie would be a target if she did not win immunity. Outside of that, Jaime revealed she lost her (fake) idol when Kane was voted out, because she gave it to him in fear of “Knowledge is Power” being in the game. Despite it being a fake idol, no one else knew that – and when she told them the truth, everyone thought she was lying. Survivor 44 episode 10 highlights the murky waters of truthful statements sometimes being as equally perilous as lying.

Regardless of whether the idol was real, Jaime attempted to come clean about the idol in the hopes of removing any sort of target from her. Instead, it created doubt amongst the other players, which led to her becoming a viable target. Sometimes, less is more. If someone tells you the plan, nod or show some form of agreement. If someone believes you have something, nothing might change that opinion – even if it’s the truth.

On top of Frannie and Jaime being potential targets for the next vote, Danny and Heidi were also mentioned. Do you know who wasn’t a target but had an incredible read on the game? Carolyn Wiger. Not only does Frannie appreciate how open and sincere she is as a person, but Carolyn has proven she can see what’s happening in the game, despite others trying to make plans without her say-so.

Who was voted out and is Carolyn the best player in and out of Survivor 44 episode 10?

First things first; Frannie did not win immunity. If you came into Survivor 44 episode 10 thinking Frannie was in trouble, that feeling did not improve when she lost in the immunity challenge. Carson won the immunity challenge after crushing the final star-shaped puzzle. Even though Frannie won the reward challenge and strategic talks took place, it felt all for not as soon as she lost immunity.

Carson and Yam Yam were closest with Carolyn but feared her growing bond with Frannie. On top of that, they realized they would either have to go behind her back to vote out Frannie or continue the Tika trio and vote the way Carolyn wanted. As a viewer, it’s incredible to watch conversations take place and then see another player realize what’s happening, despite being away from those talks. Carolyn listened to what others were telling her and things didn’t add up. She surmised in confessional how they were leaving her out of the strategic talks to vote out her new BFF.

Frannie has already highlighted how amazing Carolyn is at being comfortable in her own skin, but it’s also very clear she’s amazing at the game of Survivor. Although viewers don’t see everything that’s happening in the game, it appears her reads on who to vote for are logical, but her allies continue to dismiss her reasoning. Whether or not her rock-solid gameplay will advance her to the end is yet to be determined. Until then, Carolyn will have to navigate next week after being lied to in tonight’s vote.

Her allies left her out and Frannie was sent packing. Her frustrations were clearly on display, but let’s take a moment to realize how incredibly well Frannie took being voted out. In such a devastating moment, she realized she was wearing Carolyn’s belt, so she took the time to take it off and give it back to her. It’s that type of sincerely thoughtful person fans cheer for, but unfortunately, her chance of winning Survivor 44 has ended.
