Do Peter Quill and Gamora get back together in Guardians of the Galaxy 3?

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is currently a huge hit closing out the adventures of the cosmic heroes. But does it also have a reunion of Peter Quill and Gamora? Find out!

One of the key character arcs of the GOTG movies has been the relationship between Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana). As the adoptive daughter of the genocidal Thanos (James Brolin), Gamora was sent against Quill, but they eventually joined together to form the Guardians.

The second movie built on their romance to become a couple. That led to Avengers; Infinity War when Thanos sacrificed Gamora to gain the Soul Stone. That sent Peter into a rage, leading to Thanos’ brief victory, snapping half the universe into dust.

In Avengers: Endgame, thanks to time travel, the Gamora of the past was brought into the present. While she fought against Thanos, her only interaction with Quill was to knock him down when he tried to embrace her.

This leads into the new movie as Quill is still mourning for the Gamora he knew. When they need help tracking down information to save a dying Rocket, the team turns to Gamora, who’s now working for the Ravagers. Peter tries to win her over with Gamora coldly telling him over and over that she’s not the woman he remembers and could never be that way.

Despite that, the pair still work together to save Rocket and stop the evil High Evolutionary. Aong the way, Gamora learns more empathy from the rest of the team.

Do Peter and Gamora get back together in Guardians of the Galaxy 3?

In the end, Peter and Gamora agree that they can’t pick up any romance. Peter notes that Gamora has to be herself, and he can’t force his feelings on her. Gamora acknowledges being touched by how Peter feels about her and tempted to stay, but isn’t ready to be a hero.

Gamora returns to the Ravagers while Peter heads back to Earth to reunite with his grandfather, leaving Rocket to assemble a new team of Guardians. Thus, there is no happy reunion for the former lovers, yet Guardians of the Galaxy 3 still offers plenty of heartfelt moments to leave fans satisfied.
