The Bold and the Beautiful recap (May 9): Hope commits herself to Liam

It’s no secret to The Bold and the Beautiful viewers that Hope has been struggling with her newly realized feelings for Thomas. So much so that we’ve seen far more romantic nights between her and Liam than we’ve been used to with the spark starting from her desire for her lead designer. Today was no different on the soap when she treated Liam to a candlelit rendezvous in their cabin with their young ones off at sleepovers.

In a beautiful, black off the shoulder dress, Hope presented her husband with wine and promptly stopped him when he started going on a rant about her work relationship with Thomas. She steered his mind toward their own connection and showed him just how much she loves him and is committed to their family. Liam even noted that Hope’s never been so passionate during their intimacy. Clearly he’s enjoying reaping the benefits but, unfortunately, for Liam none of this is entirely about him.

After all, Steffy caught Hope’s inappropriate moment with Thomas. And, while clasping hands with him and smiling up in admiration isn’t exactly the worst offense, it wasn’t an action that would be well received by her husband. Not to mention it could be a potential trigger for Thomas who’s never been on the receiving end of Hope’s affections beyond friendship even if something more romantic has been under the surface before.

Hope was also remembering that moment while pressed up against Liam as they basked in their afterglow. She’s assured her him of her heart’s loyalty and her love for him and their family, but at some point it’s going to start sounding like she has something to feel guilty about and judging from Liam’s face when she wasn’t looking, perhaps he’s beginning to worry.

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?

Speaking of worrying, that’s what Steffy was doing. While she was appreciating her husband’s physique, she couldn’t help but also be thinking over what she’d witnessed back at Forrester Creations. Noticing her occupied mind, Finn gave her a listening ear and tried to piece together what might have her concerned. He correctly deduced that it had to do with Thomas and Hope’s work relationship, but Steffy didn’t let him get too far into the weeds of what’s got her perplexed so for now Hope won’t have yet another person questioning her actions.

Based on Finn’s discussion of this whole situation, he doesn’t think Liam has much to worry about since Thomas is getting the help he needs and he’s in a good place. Not to mention Hope keeps telling him that everything is fine at work and Thomas isn’t crossing the line. What Finn has yet to learn is that Steffy is actually starting to wonder if the person she should really be keeping her eye on is Hope. Deciding to put her thoughts to bed, Steffy tried to focus on Finn and the two began to kiss but, as he was kissing her neck, she couldn’t help but let her mind stray to Thope’s shared moment.

It was also on Thomas’ mind as he worked, but RJ’s appearance was a welcome distraction as the two finally got to speak alone. RJ said his peace about how hard it’s been being the one person who connects their family together, it’s a big part of why he hasn’t been home much same with the drama that often crops up which tends to be spearheaded by Thomas’ plots.

Thomas assured his brother that he has no intention on meddling in their father’s affairs again nor is he trying to disrupt Hope’s marriage. He really is focusing on designing and being a better father. RJ was glad to hear that and with the air clear, the two were able to be playful siblings. Thomas also got to share that he’s amazed by the work RJ does as an influencer and how he’s been able to spin his brand partnerships into a globe-trotting gig.

RJ asked him to explain that to Ridge, but Thomas said he was going to be staying out of things especially since no one is going to be able to convince their father that Ridge Forrester, Jr. shouldn’t be a designer. However, Thomas did extend an invitation to RJ. If he ever wants to do some design work or go over the day-to-day operations of the company, all he has to do is ask and Thomas will help him. RJ appreciated the gesture. It was nice to see the two brothers bond, hopefully the upcoming drama doesn’t disrupt the progress they’ve made.
