Avatar: The Way of Water: Is Avatar 2 on Prime Video?

Those of us waiting for Avatar 2, aka Avatar: The Way of Water, to make its streaming release are more than ready to go back to Pandora! Is the epic science fiction film streaming anywhere like on Prime Video?

The next installment in the franchise sees the return of actors Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald. A bunch of new cast members also joined the fantastical world this time around.

The movie once again centers around Jake Sully (Worthington) who is now married to Neytiri (Saldana). The loving couple has three kids and will have to work with the army of the Na’vi once again to protect their planet from a familiar threat, per the logline.

The film was already highly-anticipated when it made its theatrical debut. Now many of us are eagerly waiting for the movie to come to streaming and on-demand. Has that happened? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Is Avatar 2 on Prime Video?

We have some good news and bad news. The good news is that Avatar 2 begins streaming Wednesday, June 7, 2023! The bad news is that it won’t be on Prime Video. The movie will be released on both Disney+ and HBO Max (soon to Max starting May 23). The streaming release also includes bonus content featuring the filmmakers, cast, and crew.

While the film isn’t available to stream on Prime Video though, you can buy it. The platform is one of many that sells the 20th Century Studios production. So if you’re not subscribed to Disney+ or HBO Max and you don’t want to purchase a plan, you can simply purchase the movie and watch it over and over as many times as you’d like. Included with this purchase is over three hours of never-before-seen extras.
