The Bold and the Beautiful recap (May 15): Hope enjoys Thomas’ touch

If you’ve been waiting for Hope to slip up with Thomas or to at least express her feelings, you’re still in for a wait on The Bold and the Beautiful. But she did share a few touches with her lead designer that her husband, Liam, isn’t going to appreciate if he were to learn about them.

The first was a hug. Hope had been telling Thomas that she’s spent her whole life trying not to be like her mother, Brooke, when she was overcome with emotion. He pulled her into his arms and she savored the embrace. They didn’t let go of each other right away either, in fact, they got caught up in each other’s gaze when they began to pull back so they could see each other’s faces.

It wasn’t until Hope’s phone rang that they moved apart. The call was from the pilot of the Forrester jet who was informing them both that the mechanical issues the plane had been dealing with had been fixed and that they wouldn’t have to spend the night in San Francisco after all. What should have been a relief to Hope seemed to be a disappointment as she took in the news.

Thomas even had to be the one to tell her to call Liam so that she could put his mind at ease. The call with Liam definitely soothed him but, even as Hope was telling him that she couldn’t wait to be back in his arms, it was apparent that the words leaving her mouth weren’t at all how she truly felt.

She and Thomas bid San Francisco goodbye after one last talk about what a pair they make. Then they hopped on the plane, ready to go back to LA. During the flight, however, they touched again when Hope began to complain about the pain she was experiencing in her shoulder area. Quick to assist, Thomas began to give her a massage that looked nothing more than friendly on his side but sensual on hers as Hope’s heart rate began to increase with his hands on her body.

What we saw unfold is the very thing Steffy is worried about that she’s yet to share with Liam.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Steffy and Liam wrapped up their talk on Thope today with another round of her assuring him that he had nothing to be concerned about when it comes to her brother. But she neglected to let Liam in on the fact that she’s increasingly becoming worried about Hope’s feelings and the potential for her to mess up Thomas’ progress.

She did, however, begin to let Finn in on her thoughts. Finn has been the most obviously amused/annoyed with Liam’s constant suspicions of Thomas. And, while he’s indulged conversations from both him and Steffy on the subject matter, he’s begun to grow rather tired of the whole ordeal and mentioned he’d prefer to focus on his own marriage and alone time with Steffy. He didn’t get to do that though because she was distracted while they shared a glass of wine.

The episode ended before Steffy could elaborate on what’s got her mind preoccupied but she did share that Liam’s concerned about Thomas when the actually issue is Hope. For his part, Liam couldn’t let things lie either. Wyatt couldn’t even get him to focus on an upcoming deal Spencer Publications is looking to land.

Opening up to Wyatt, Liam explained that Steffy had been by to see him while Hope and Thomas were in San Francisco. He filled his brother in on why the two were out of town and that they were on their way back home. Wyatt couldn’t see what the issue was now that Hope will be back in time to tuck the kids in and be home with him, but that’s because he wasn’t hung up on Steffy’s support of her brother.

She isn’t on Liam’s side with this and he admitted that it makes him feel alone. Steffy is reasonable. She has a clear head when it comes to Thomas. She even pointed out to Liam that the only reason why her brother had gone on this trip was because the buyers wanted to see him. He didn’t invite himself along. So for Steffy to continuously assert that there’s nothing to worry about regarding Thomas, Liam feels like he’s a party of one when it comes to waiting for the other shoe to drop.

What he doesn’t know is that Steffy is waiting for that shoe, too, she just isn’t of the mind that Thomas is going to be the one to make it fall. That it’s going to be Hope instead and that’s certainly a position that would blindside Liam if he were to learn of it.
