8 new Netflix movies and shows to watch this week (May 22)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend watching Fast X in theaters. Like we do each and every week, we’re sharing all the new Netflix movies and shows debuting beginning the week of May 22, 2023.

We have one incredible jam-packed week on our favorite streaming platform with a sprinkle of everything for everyone. From the return of a smash-hit reality dating show to a stand-up comedy special from a legend to the return of a cookout show, we are feasting this week.

I mean it when I tell you that you aren’t ready for the premiere of The Ultimatum: Queer Love. The reality dating series is back and better than before, with drama for days and even weeks. Of course, as Netflix does with all of their reality shows, they are only releasing the first four episodes of the show this week, followed by new episodes for the next three weeks. I can’t wait to hear the chatter around this season.

The other big release is in the form of a stand-up comedy special from Wanda Sykes. This is the second stand-up special from Sykes debuting on Netflix, where she talks about parenting with her French wife, public bathrooms, and how she’s tired of going high when others go low. It promises to be a great one from the legend herself. It’s easily one of my most anticipated specials of the year.
