Will there be a Transformers 8? (Everything we know)

Transformers 8 is on everyone’s minds now that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has finally hit theaters. The film, which made its debut on Friday, June 9, is the sequel to Bumblebee. Taking place in the ’90s, the latest addition to the franchise introduces us to Noah (Anthony Ramos), a military vet with an expertise in electronics, and Elena (Dominique Fishback), an artifact researcher who is thrown into the middle of the ongoing battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

In Rise of the Beasts, the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons join the fight, along with Unicron the “Planet Eater,” in this action packed film that’ll have longtime fans of the franchise and newcomers sitting on the edge of their seats as the twisting story unfolds.

There was nearly 5 years between this release and its predecessor Bumblebee, so fans want to know if they can anticipate another film in this series and when. Here’s everything we know so far!

Will there be a Transformers 8?

Yes! Back in 2022, Paramount announced that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was slated to be the first film in a planned trilogy. So, while we don’t have a name for its sequel, fans can anticipate an eighth film on the heels of Rise of the Beasts.

Does Transformers 8 have a release date?

No, one has yet to be announced though we likely won’t be seeing the next installment in this film series for awhile. A 2024 release isn’t in the cards considering there haven’t been reports of production being underway and the film and TV industry is in the middle of a writers strike that could include an actors strike if SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP can’t reach an agreement by the June 30 deadline.

Not to mention Collider reports there is an animated Transformers movie set to release on July 19, 2024 entitled Transformers One. The film, which is the first animated feature length movie for the franchise in 40 years, is a prequel that explores the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. With this movie on the docket, fans of the franchise at least have another theatrical release to tied them over until the sequel to Rise of the Beasts premieres.

Who will star in Transformers 8?

The cast has yet to be confirmed. Time will tell if Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, who star in Rise of the Beasts, will make a return for the sequel. The same can be said for the voice cast, we’ll keep you posted on who will star in the blockbuster along with what it’ll be about since the plot is unknown as well.
