The Bold and the Beautiful recap (June 13): Taylor confronts Brooke
By Sabrina Reed
Braylor is done and dusted on The Bold and the Beautiful, but that doesn’t mean the rivals who were once friends won’t be having anymore scenes with each other. Tuesday’s episode of the soap proved the pair will still be going toe-to-toe, and it did so by having Taylor confront Brooke at Forrester Creations.
The last time the two saw each other, they had a fight that had gotten out of hand. Brooke accused Taylor of manipulating Deacon into trying to start things back up with her so that the “path” to Ridge would be cleared. Taylor adamantly denied that accusation, and she did so again in this calmer conversation, but she did admit that she could have handled her suspicions that Brooke wasn’t being entirely truthful better.
The scene served to tell the audience that Taylor is aware Brooke’s going on the trip to Italy, and that she wants to use it as a means of rekindling her romance with Ridge. She let Brooke in on the fact that she wants to go to Rome as well and that didn’t sit well with the Logan. While she, and we, know that she’s not going to Italy strictly for business, she expressly told Taylor that she has no reason to be there because she has no ties to Forrester Creations as an employee.
Brooke reminded Taylor that she’s a pivotal part of the fashion firm and has meetings scheduled with buyers to help usher in success for the HFTF brand. As a psychiatrist, Taylor wouldn’t be attending the trip for work which apparently disqualifies her from coming even though she said that she wants to be there to support Thomas just like Brooke wants to be in Italy to support Hope.
What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?
When Taylor reiterated that she’s been feeling that Brooke has held the full truth back from her regarding Ridge, the Logan finally shared that she’s worried about Ridge. She said he seems lost, and Taylor put the pieces together that it’s because he doesn’t believe in love anymore. Brooke intends on using the Italy trip to get him believe in their “eternal love” again and, clearly, that means Taylor can’t be there otherwise it’ll get in the way of her plans.
It’d ruin Eric and RJ’s agenda, too. In between teasing Ridge for his last minute packing which included searching for his passport in the main office, the grandfather-grandson duo pushed for him to see Rome as an opportunity to reunite with Brooke. They were very unsubtle about it which did amuse Ridge, but the conversation turned serious when he mentioned that Taylor wants to come on the trip.
Because they’re supposed to be focused on business, Eric didn’t think it was a good idea for Taylor to be in Italy with them even though he’d just told Ridge he should find some time to be alone with Brooke while there. RJ was also against the idea of Taylor being a part of the trip with Brooke being along for the ride.
When Eric rushed off to meet Donna, RJ continued his push to put his parents back together even though he swears that’s not what he’s trying to do. Ridge warned him not to look to far into this Rome adventure, but RJ didn’t really listen and reminded his dad about destiny.
Meanwhile, over at the Cliff House, Steffy and Liam were talking about how bright Kelly is. She’s begun to learn Italian because Steffy’s going to the country. It was a rather sweet bonding moment between the co-parents as they briefly spoke the language before the conversation dovetailed into yet another discussion about Liam’s worries over Hope and Thomas going to Rome together.
Steffy told him that she doesn’t want to hurt him, but she does think the issue is Hope’s feelings for Thomas that she may not have even acknowledged to herself. Liam, at least in front of Steffy, doesn’t think his wife is interested in her lead designer, but he’s still concerned. Steffy asked him if he’d like to come to Rome, too, but Liam declined because he doesn’t want to be the husband who keeps tabs on his wife. So, Steffy promised to keep an eye on Hope for him.
She’s going to need to since Hope could slip up. The brand ambassador stopped by a rather lively looking Il Giardino to visit her father, and she broached the topic of his and her mom’s mistakes. Deacon said they got her out of the deal, but he also assured her that she wouldn’t follow in their footsteps because of who she is and the values she adheres to.
Deacon did, however, remind her that she’s too hard on herself and that it’s okay if she does make a mistake or wants to follow her passions. He has no idea that she’s been struggling with not giving into her desire to be with Thomas intimately, so that was the wrong advice to give at this period in Hope’s life, even if it was sound wisdom.
Back at the cabin, Hope had only a moment to herself before Liam appeared from the direction the kids’ bedrooms are. He’d finished putting them to bed, and he wanted to try one more time to convince Hope not to bring Thomas with her to Italy, but she cut him off before he could. Once more she told Liam that she only wants to be with him and that she’ll do this career changing event for HFTF and come home. She didn’t want to spend their last night together arguing about something she isn’t going to change her mind on, and they hugged.
When Hope left the room to say goodnight to Beth and Douglas, Liam shuddered rather hard and it was obvious that he knows something isn’t right about all of this even if he’s not ready to admit that that’s because his wife is being deceitful.
Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
