Everything to know about Pixar’s ELIO (release updates and more)

Ever since Disney’s Lightyear stole our hearts, audiences have been begging to see another animated film that will take them on another grand space adventure. Thankfully, space lovers won’t have to wait too long, as Pixar has unveiled their latest galaxy-filled project—ELIO.

Although we don’t know everything there is to know about the upcoming release at the moment, going off of the outstanding cast list and synopsis, we can tell that this is a special film that will leave a mark on your lives forever.

Without further ado, here’s everything we know!

ELIO release date

An official date for this Pixar animated film has yet to be released. However, panelists at D23 Expo informed us that fans can expect this title to release as soon as Spring 2024.

There is a solid chance that the date of the film will be confirmed in the near future. Hopefully, the date announced is much sooner than Spring 2024. But if it’s not, then get ready to wait a little while longer for what very well may be your favorite animated film of all time. (We’re sure it’ll be worth the wait, though!)

ELIO cast

Deadline reports that the cast of the 2024 film includes Yonas Kibreab, who will voice Elio, and America Ferrera, who will voice Elio’s mother, Olga Solis.

Adrian Molina, the mastermind behind Coco and The Good Dinosaur, will serve as the director for this new piece. He will combine his award-winning talents with Brave producer Mary Alice Drumm to bring forth yet another timeless classic.

ELIO synopsis

In an unexpected turn of events, Elio, a space-loving kid, finds himself among the stars and comets. There, he becomes a spectacle in the eyes of aliens and celestial creatures because of his human features. However, rather than fear him or run away from the unknown, the aliens believe that he is a representative (or an intergalactic Ambassador) of Earth sent to inform them about the mysterious planet. With such an extravagant title, Elio realizes that he’s going to do more than take in the sights of space on his magical space journey.
