Even though the writer’s strike is still ongoing, we’re eagerly waiting for news about what will happen on our favorite shows. While there may not be a whole lot of information out yet, we can get an idea of what will happen based on how the latest season ended. This is the case with Chicago Fire, which saw some unexpected exits occur. Let’s see what Chicago Fire season 12 release updates we know so far.

The one good thing about dealing with the way season 11 ended was knowing the show had been renewed, alongside the rest of the One Chicago franchise. However, that does not mean fans were left with nothing to be nervous about, especially with characters left in peril or leaving in all three of franchise shows.

From how Chicago Fire season 11 ended, there were more than a few shakeups. Between cast exits and characters left in peril, there was plenty to go around for the fans when it came to trying to decipher what was happening with the show.

When the finale aired, there was a proposal, a shooting, and a mission to bring Taylor Kinney’s Kelly Severide home. What can we possibly expect when the show returns for season 12?

Chicago Fire season 12 strike delay updates

At this time, no filming has begun for the upcoming season due to the strike. We’ll keep you informed as soon as an update surfaces.

When will Chicago Fire season 12 premiere?

As of right now, it’s up in the air when we will get to see the show return. With the writer’s strike ongoing, there has been no work done on the show so the premiere date will likely be pushed back later in the year or even until January.

So far, we do know the series will still be on NBC’s Wednesday block alongside Chicago Med and Chicago PD.

Who will we see from the Chicago Fire season 12 cast?

With the news that actor Taylor Kinney would be exiting the series to take a hiatus, fans were prepared for this possibility. However, the season 11 finale left another character in danger, leaving us to wonder if another cast exit would be happening.

In the episode, Mouch, who is played by actor Christian Stolte, was put in danger on a call when shrapnel from an active shooter situation hit him. Despite the fact it looked like he would be okay, Mouch was bleeding out as the episode ended.

Hopefully he will be okay and we won’t have any more cast upheavals. With Kinney taking some time off for personal reasons and Jesse Spencer revealing he may return as Matt Casey, there’s already a lot of back and forth for fans to handle already! Then again, Stolte did seemingly post a goodbye message to the fans, but he could have been riling the audience up!

With those three actors left undetermined, we can at least hope to see the rest of the regular cast.

  • Eamonn Walker- Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden
  • Kara Killmer- Sylvie Brett
  • David Eigenberg- Lt. Christopher Herrmann
  • Miranda Rae Mayo- Stella Kidd
  • Joe Minoso- Joe Cruz
  • Daniel Kyri- Darren Ritter
  • Alberto Rosende- Blake Gallo
  • Hanako Greensmith- Violet Mikami

What can we expect from Chicago Fire season 12?

At the moment, we do have some plot lines left up in the air. With Casey having proposed to paramedic Sylvie Brett and Stella Kidd on her way to bring her husband, Kelly Severide home, these are just two arcs we can expect. Plus, we still need to know if Mouch will be okay!

We hope to see more action for Daniel Kyri’s Darren Ritter, especially since he is such a great character to have around. There’s plenty to look forward to on Chicago Fire season 12 and we’re looking forward to seeing what happens when the show returns!
